OD 2 : Oneness of Litrature

Northop Frye developed the theory of "Archetypal Criticism" based on the idea that whole of the literature has oneness of its existence. All literatures shares common DNA or skeleton.  There is parallel structure in writting. T.S.Eliot said in his "Tradition and Individual Talent", that the best individual part of poet's work is the maximum influence,which is reflection of writers of past.He covers various topics, myths in his long poem "The Wasteland". This poem carried very deep meaning inside it. # Anton Chekhov's Joke :- "A joke" by Anton Chekhov is also shows the same structure of story, only the character name has changed. 1) The Waste Land is based on christianity and faith of God. Eliot belives in god he use so many myth in The Waste Land. T.S.Eliot describes about Upnishada, Buddhism, and Christinaty. Nietzsche gives solution of contempory malaise. Nietzsche belives in concept of Superman. 2) in the second quetion Gustaf Hellastrom of swedish academy he says to salvatiom of man lie. T.S.Eliot views are philosophical and he is belived in religious thinking. Eliot belives in human law but frued belives in individual thinking. 1) What connection do you see in the setting (“A country road. A tree.Evening.”) of the play and these paintings? Ans :- In the play first scene is 'a country road, a tree, and evening' it is very symbolical.These paintings symbolizes Longing. Longing means desire or hope. 2) The tree is the only important ‘thing’ in the setting. What is the importance of tree in both acts?
